The Get it On Project
The I.T suite has recently been refurbished with 8 new p.c's, 2 Apple Mac's, 2 lap tops, webcam and head sets. The new equipment has been funded by the Western Valleys Strategic Regeneration Area and Communities First. The project is called 'Get it On', a Welsh Government initiative that aims to develop Centres of Excellence across the South Wales region in order for entrepreneurship, social enterprise and local businesses to up-skill and embed technology into their businesses.
Learning and skills development for employment will be a key factor in the project as will the development of a social enterprise/small business to support not just the centres but local business and the community in which they operate.
This will be achieved through creating, updating and re-inventing existing centres along with new centres in the WVSRA region in line with community ICT Strategies. This project is aimed at helping you, young or old, to learn through the media of ICT.
