Volunteering can be rewarding, challenging and an ideal means of gaining experience in different areas.
• Do you have any spare time?
• Do you need to add to your CV?
• Do you want to learn new skills?
• Do you have skills or expertise that need updating?
• Would you like to use your skills to help others?
We value the hard work, effort and dedication that our volunteers bring to the Centre and are very fortunate to have a group of volunteers that support us on a weekly basis. Friends of the Black Mountain Centre participate in a number of Centre activities including our weekly luncheon club!
The Workways Programme
We work in partnership with a number of organisations to provide individuals with volunteering experience that can lead to future employment opportunities.
Susan Preston and John Jones have both voluntereed and worked at the Centre through the Workways programme. Having volunteered for a number of months, Susan and John gradually moved into employment at the Centre. Susan has since gone on to secure a permanent position at Brynteg Surgery, Ammanford. John often works at the Centre cafe.
Mathew Hewlett has recently joined the team through the Workways programme. Mathew is the new Centre Attendant and Administrative Assistant employed at the Centre.
Time Banking in the Amman Valley
